A secret hideaway. An abandoned shack. And a mystery that was never meant to be uncovered. Twelve-year-old best friends Jim and Dave have one goal for summer vacation: build the greatest secret hideaway ever. But while exploring the woods near Welles Creek, they discover an old, vine-covered shack marked with a warning: DANGER — KEEP OUT Naturally, they go in. What they find beneath the shack changes everything—a hidden underground bunker filled with strange equipment, mysterious codes, radiation warnings, and clues pointing to a secret that has been buried for decades. Soon Jim and Dave are joined by their friends Lily, Luca, Charlie, and Lydia, and their summer adventure becomes a race to uncover the truth. But every answer leads to another question. What happened inside the bunker? Why was it abandoned? What lies behind the sealed laboratory door? And what does Papa know that he isn’t telling them? With friendship, humor, secret codes, unexpected scares, and plenty of trouble, The Mystery of Welles Creek is a fast-paced middle-grade mystery adventure for young readers who love hidden places, puzzling clues, and kids brave—or foolish—enough to find out what’s on the other side of a KEEP OUT sign. Some mysteries are meant to stay buried. Jim and Dave have never been very good at leaving things alone. A Jim & Dave Adventure — Book 1
